What is Javascript?

How to turn on Javascript in your browser:

Javascript is a programming language that gives websites more functionality and interactivity.

This site uses Javascript for a number of features.  Some people turn Javascript off as a security measure, but usually this isn't really necessary.

In any case, you have my personal assurance that this site is free of any malicious scripts.  Any Javascript on this site is here to give it more features for you.

How do you turn Javascript on?

The steps you'll need to follow to turn on Javascript will depend on which browser you're using:
 

Internet Explorer
 

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu (or the View menu in older versions).
  2. Click the Security tab at the top.
  3. Click the Custom Level button at the bottom.
  4. In Security Settings under Scripting, enable Active Scripting.
  5. Click OK twice.
  6. Refresh the web-page.

Internet Explorer for Mac
 

  1. Select Preferences from the Explorer (or Edit) menu.
  2. Click the arrow next to Web Browser.
  3. Click Web Content.
  4. Under Active Content select the Enable Scripting checkbox.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Refresh the web-page.

  1. Select Options... from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Web Features (or Content) icon.
  3. Select the Enable JavaScript checkbox at the bottom.
  4. Click OK.

  3. Click Scripts & Plugins.
  4. Select the Navigator checkbox under “Enable Javascript for”.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Refresh the web-page.
