What are schools looking for?
If you want to present yourself at your best, you need
to know what schools want in their teachers.
Our schools are asking for honest, reliable teachers with
a university degree or college diploma, who will fulfill at least
a one year contract.
They want you to speak English as your first language...
...and
they
want someone who can teach an effective ESL class that
includes fun, engaging activities and games to keep students interested –
whether they are adults or children.
Schools prefer their teachers to have TESL experience,
training and/or certification, but it isn't necessarily required. However,
the more qualifications you offer, the higher your teaching salary can
be.
Schools especially want their teachers to present a clean,
professional image that will be visually pleasing to students and
their parents, and reflect positively on their ESL program.
